• BOOKING

To make or enquire about a booking, please complete the reservation form hosted on this web site. If you prefer, you can simply send.a request by e-mail to: enquiries@a-villa-in-crete.com and we will contact you. Once we have confirmed that the dates you require are.available, a deposit of 50% will be requested and details for payment provided. Confirmation of your booking together with an invoice for.the balance will be sent to you by return. We will also provide you with our contact telephone number for any additional enquiries or.updates that you may need.

• PAYMENT

The balance of payment can be made in two ways. It can be paid 4 weeks before your departure as with your deposit. Or alternatively the. remainder can be paid (in €uro) upon your arrival at the villa. If for any reason the balance is not received by the due date or on your..arrival at the Villa, we (or our Agents in Crete ) reserve the right to cancel your booking. For bookings made less than 8 weeks before departure the total amount will be required.

• CANCELLATION

Our liability is limited solely to making the accommodation available for the dates you have requested. In the event of the accommodation. .not being available, a full refund will of course be given. Should the client wish to cancel then please be advised that there are. cancellation fees and these are as follows:-

CLIENT CANCELLATION

2 calendar months notice - 30% Loss of Deposit

1 calendar months notice - 60% Loss of Deposit

Less than 1 months notice - FULL LOSS OF DEPOSIT

In the unlikely event of the owner wishing to cancel your deposit will of course be refunded in full. Once you have occupied the. accommodation there will be no refund of any amount paid and it will be assumed that you have cancelled as a matter of preference.

• FORCE MAJEURE

We regret that we are unable to accept responsibility for any aspect of your holiday arrangements beyond our control. As such, threats. .of war, civil commotion, riots, industrial disputes, government action, vandalism, flood, fire, storm, and earthquake or travel delays.caused by any reason due to your own or travel company issues.

• SUB LETTING

The villa is reserved only for those people specifically named on the booking form. Extra people are allowed only with the prior.permission of the owner or the permission of our Agent in Crete . Bed linen and towels are provided for the number of people stated on.the booking form. Please be advised that the villa is rented purely normal holiday use only. Pets/animals are allowed but only with our.prior written consent.

• INSURANCE

As with any foreign travel you are strongly advised to take out full travel and medical insurance for all members of your party. Under no. circumstances can Insurance be provided by us (The Villa Owners) for any persons wishing to rent the property or any of their guests.

• RENTAL

The rental period starts at 3:00 PM on the first day and finishes at 12:00 midday on the last day. Often travel times can cause some..inconvenience, should you wish to arrive earlier or depart later you must agree this with us or our local Agent in Crete at the time of.booking. We will make every effort to accommodate your needs.

• DAMAGE TO BUILDING OR CONTENTS

Please be advised that the occupier accepts full responsibility for any damage or breakages to the property and goods contained.therein. Any damage or breakage will be charged for at repair or replacement value for the item. The villa is for normal holiday use and..whilst we expect your stay to be as comfortable and enjoyable as possible it should still be treated with respect. In the event of.substantial. damage/abuse being caused to the villa, you may well be asked to leave. This being the case it will be your responsibility to.find alternative accommodation at your own expense. No refund will be made for the remainder of the booking period and our Agents in.Crete will assess costs for damages which you will then be required to pay.

• HEALTH & SAFETY

We do not make any claim that the villa is totally child friendly. Whilst we have made every effort to ensure that reasonable care has..been taken to address matters within the borders of our property, it is the parent's full responsibility to ensure total safety of their.children. Within the Villa you will find ample advice on safety including recommendations for the supervision of children and swimming..pools, adults and swimming pools and the potential danger with the low stone walls surrounding the Villa and general health and safety.tips. Some villas are better suited than others for young children, elderly or disabled people. We recommend that you fully investigate.the suitability of our property before you book, please contact us if you have any questions about this matter. Despite our efforts and all. the advice given prior to departure and upon arrival at the villa it is ultimately your responsibility for the care and safety of the members.of your group.

• SECURITY

Crete is still very much a relatively safe island and has a low incidence of crime. We cannot however accept any responsibility for loss of.or damage to property or person during the course of your stay. Please ensure your holiday insurance provides you with adequate cover.

• WATER

Water is a scarce resource the world over and Crete is no exception. Occasionally water shortages can occur during the summe months.. On such occasions the water authority may decide to turn off the supply to parts of the village. We therefore advise that you buy..a supply of bottled water available at the local supermarket in the village and keep the kettle filled. Bottled water is quite inexpensive and.can be kept in the fridge or the store room. If the water is turned off during your stay, check with our Agent (if available) or at the local.Cafennions about the situation. Remember, this is Crete and you are on holiday, so do not get too upset, there are always many..alternatives. We regret that we cannot be held responsible for an inconsistent supply of water.

• ELECTRICITY

As with many places across Europe, a constant electricity supply is not guaranteed 100% of the time and Crete is no exception. There will be times when power to the village is temperately unavailable. To this end we have supplied you with a small gas burner to ensure.you can always prepare a small meal or have a warm drink. The villa is also equipped with 2 torches and spare batteries in the event that.the power outage happens during the night. We regret that we cannot be held responsible for any inconsistency in the power supply.

• VILLA CLEANING & LAUNDRY

The Villa will be cleaned prior to you arrival and again when you depart. Bed linen will be changed once a week during your stay. A..washing machine has been provided for your own laundry requirements. As this is a ‘self catering' holiday, washing and cleaning will be.your responsibility unless you specifically request this service at the time of booking. We cannot always guarantee that our local Agents..will provide the service for you, but we will ask if you make a specific request. We ask that you keep the Villa reasonably clean to avoid..problems with insects, particularly in the kitchen area. This does not apply to pool cleaning or maintenance as this is carried out by our.Agent on a regular basis all year round.

• POOL & GARDEN MAINTENANCE

Throughout your stay in the villa, garden and pool maintenance will be carried out by our Agent. The pool chlorine levels must be checked.and maintained regularly for your safety and to ensure the water remains clear of algae. These activities will not take too long and they..will cause the minimum amount of disruption to you.

• A VILLA IN CRETE

A Villa in Crete is not associated or affiliated with any Travel Companies or Tourist Industries. This is a Private Villa which is rented.directly to Guests by the Owners specific permission.
